All right now.

I talked to my bff Kacy. He came up with the idea of homeschooling. At first, I thought that option was impossible because when I first wanted to be homeschooled, it was before the internet got a good grip on society. Online homeschooling was not an option, so my mother would have to be the teacher, and she just didn't have the knowledge to do that.

So, that had never been an option to me.

Then Kacy started to explain how it was for him when he was homeschooled, like, how it worked. I also looked up online a homeschooling website that I'd be willing to join.

Even though I would rather drop out, I've resolved myself to homeschooling.

It would be so much easier to convince my mother to let me homeschool than it would be to convince her to let me drop out.

Though it does not have all of the benefits that dropping out would for me, I would still get to move at my own pace. There's a girl that's homeschooled down the road from me. She's supposed to be a junior like us today, but she's a senior thanks to homeschooling.

So, there would still be 3/4 benefits that dropping out would have. Even though I couldn't work full-time until I "graduated," I would still be able to do a night shift option because I get to study whenever I want. You might be wondering why I want this night shift option so badly. I honestly function better at night. I know that for most people, this isn't true. For me, I honestly do function better at night. I've been more alert and creative at 3 AM than 3 PM

I'd also be able to get away from the school and the discrimination that keeps me from healing. Along with that, which ties into both, I'd be able to study better and be an overall better student thanks to the ability to study whatever time of day that I want. Though I might not do studying at night at the wishes of my mother, I could still do it later in the day, which would be better for me. My school starts at 8 AM. At school, I can never really "wake up" until after lunch, after which 5 out of my 7 classes have gone by. I would be able to sleep as much as I need, which I do need more sleep than the average 7-8 hours. I've figured that out by myself. Plus, I find it pretty much impossible to go to bed before 9 PM. I don't know why, but my mind won't shut off before around 10 PM. I've tried to do the "good kid" way by shutting off the TV an hour before I go to bed and the like but it doesn't work. But, that's not the point of this journal.

And, lastly, I'd get that free time to work on my stories. So, as mentioned, I'd have more stories to send out, which means more chances of being published, which means more money to save for college if I do get published.

So, what do you guys think now? Any tips on convincing my parents?

Okay, now I know that this will sound morbid, but I'm currently looking for more "victims" for my horror story. If you'd like, I'll base a character off of you and include them in the story. I will add a thank you in the author's notes if/when the story is ever published. If so, I will ask you for your real first name so I can include it in the thank-you's. If you don't want your real name, I'll mention your username. If you are in the story, I'll change your name and possibly looks, but I will still mention you in the dedications!

If you'd like to be in the story, leave me a comment letting me know! By the way, there are 5 books, so I need victims for all of them. Of course, I can make up ones, which is what I'll do unless I randomly get a blue zillion volunteers. But if you want to be featured in them all, let me know!

:new: Current "victims" ;)

Home-schooling idea sounds a lot better. I can honestly support this and have you graduate earlier/on time. *whew* As long as you find someplace to study in that isn't distracting and you can deal with your parents checking on you to make sure you're doing your homework. ;) I think the online home-schooling sounds much better than just dropping out and hoping to pass the GED.

Good luck with the convincing.

Okay, thank you, I feel more sure about this with support from my friends, and I've been getting more support for homeschooling than dropping out, obviously.

Got any ideas to help my convince my parents?

Do not say anything about online friends or friends that your parents would disapprove of. Give them examples of kids that have really done well and testemonials. Let them talk to the organizer of this program as well.

I dunno how they do homeschooling in your state, but from what I understand homeschooling doesn't quite equal a high school degree; you'd still need a GED.

But it's an option, and much better at that than dropping out. :D

Yay! I've talked to my parents. They have to talk about it together, but it's a good chance that I will get to do it :D
